Mouth cancer charity launches 20th anniversary celebrations

The Mouth Cancer Foundation is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary with its Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk 2025.
The walks will take place in Old Deer Park, Richmond Upon Thames, on September 20, 2025.
The Mouth Cancer Awareness Walks are designed to raise awareness of mouth, head and neck cancers. It is also an opportunity to celebrate survivorship and raise funds to continue to support patients, carers and survivors coping with mouth cancer.
To celebrate the charity’s 20th anniversary, the Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk will take on a new look, with a choice of four different routes to choose from.
The traditional Mouth Cancer 10km Awareness Walk will move to Old Deer Park in Richmond Upon Thames, offering participants an exciting and brand-new route.
The Mouth Cancer 5km Awareness Walk is a family-friendly option, suitable for those who prefer to walk shorter distances.
If you like a challenge, there is the Mouth Cancer 20km Ultra Awareness Walk along the River Thames and Richmond Riverside.
With a range of distances, enthusiastic support, and entertainment for all the family, including a treasure hunt, face painting and the charity’s mascot, Duke, the walk is suitable for the whole family and team.
Mahesh Kumar, president of the Mouth Cancer Foundation, said, “We need the dental community to step out and help raise awareness and funds for all mouth cancer patients and carers. This is the only walk for mouth cancer and we urge the dental practices and the dental community up and down the country to sign up to take part and make this the largest walk ever in our 20th year”.
The charity will also run its Walk From Home scheme from October 1 to November 30, 2025. The initiative encourages participants to walk a total of 10km (or more) in their local area to help raise awareness and funding for mouth cancer treatment. Dental practices have been encouraged to sign up and get involved.
