Cornwall-based Smile Together Dental CIC is a double-finalist in the National Dentistry Awards 2023, proudly shortlisted for both Team of the Year and Website of the Year.‌

Smile Together is an employee-owned dental social enterprise in business to deliver exceptional patient care whilst tackling oral health inequality for healthier, happier communities across the South West.

Jonathan Bouwer-Davies, managing director for Smile Together, said, “Being shortlisted in Team of the Year is a testament to the extraordinary contribution of our colleagues who resolutely deliver the highest levels of patient care alongside outstanding initiatives aimed at tackling oral health inequality across local communities. This year, we have invested almost £1m into patient facilities, delivered care to almost 18,000 patients in over 30,000 appointments, improved the oral health of around 6,500 children, opened a new practice and enhanced our service offering right across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It is great to have the team’s work recognised this way, and the shortlisting also encourages us to push the boundaries in making a positive impact to our community.”

In such a strongly focused clinical environment, it’s great to recognise the contribution of our professional support team and external partners too, and these awards have enabled just that with the Website of the Year category.

Tracy Wilson, head of marketing and communications at Smile Together, said, “Partnering with our in-house team and as part of our enhanced brand strategy, marketing agency Fuel custom-built us a contemporary yet accessible website that meets the needs of our multiple stakeholders, with the capacity to grow with our business. Not just that but it’s powered from 100 per cent renewable energy sources, just what you’d expect from a certified B Corporation!”

Representatives from Smile Together and Fuel will join other finalists and VIP guests at a prestigious awards ceremony at The Athena in Leicester on November 17, 2023, when the winners will be revealed.

According to FMC, who organise these national awards, “These leading awards in UK dentistry recognise the best in all aspects of general dental practice across the whole of the UK. Year after year, the number of entries we receive continues to grow, and this year saw an extraordinary response, making it the most competitive year yet. Being chosen as a finalist amidst this incredible pool of talent is a testament to your dedication, skill and hard work”.
