Orthodontic meeting for dental nurses
Published: 13/06/2019
The British Orthodontic Society has worked in close collaboration with the Orthodontic National Group to deliver an impressive line-up of speakers over the two days at the British Orthodontic Conference for the benefit of all dental nurses and orthodontic therapists.
This year’s British Orthodontic Conference is in Glasgow at the SEC and the DCP programme takes place on the 20-21 September. A packed programme includes Jeremy Peake, orthodontist, entrepreneur and business owner discussing ‘taking control of the future’ and John Costello, orthodontist from Total Orthodontics will debate a multi-disciplined staffing approach when so much in our clinical settings is digital. And, John Makin from the Dental Defence Union will be bringing everyone up to date with all things dento-legal on a team working level.
Amongst other notable lecturers, look out for Caroline Holland an inspirational speaker and on a real equal with all DCPs. We will also be welcoming Sean Thompson, Managing Director and founder member of the award-winning Ashford Orthodontics laboratory and David Birnie, Consultant Orthodontist, Newcastle-upon-Tyne to speak about Insignia - a customised digital approach for fixed appliances. Have a look at David Birnie’s YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYSfVKZoDp0
The trio of Consultant Orthodontists John Scholey, Steve Chadwick and Colin Melrose will not fail to entertain and inform us all.
For the first time at conference there will be two clinical skills sessions especially for orthodontic therapists. One is on clinical photography and one on bonded retainers – both are an excellent opportunity to get some practical help and tips. (Don’t forget to register your interest when completing your conference registration form.) The early bird offer ends soon on 30 June – don’t let this bargain slip through your grasp. Remember ONG members benefit from a discounted rate. If you are not yet a member or you know someone who isn’t – get in touch with the ONG committee straight away to start your membership and enjoy the benefits!
