​There have been two new appointments at the Society of British Dental Nurses (SBDN) followings its AGM.

Louise Smith, East Midlands regional chair and vice chair for the SBDN, is now vice president.

Clare Faulkner, the student liaison lead for the Society, has been appointed vice chair.

She is lead dental nursing lecturer at Walsall College, teaching the level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing and the Certificate in Dental Radiography.

Clare has gained post qualifications in Oral Health Education, Conscious Sedation, Dental Radiography, Impression Taking and Fluoride Application.

She has provided oral health education for both nurseries and primary schools voluntarily and is currently completing her degree in Education Studies. Both remain clinical, which they both feel is so important.

Clare Soper will become the newly appointed editor and Heidi Grimwood will take up the post of secretary.
