A new state-of-the-art facility that will deliver in-depth training to clinical health professionals has been unveiled.
Bupa’s Clinical Training Facility will train thousands of professionals each year, including dental nurses and dentists, helping to address the UK’s growing dental workforce challenges. According to data, there are currently 2,749 dentist vacancies across the UK, with demand for dental care continuing to rise.
The facility is designed to promote learning, innovation and build world-class skills for UK healthcare workers, including dental nurses, dentists, hygienists, therapists, care workers, nurses and doctors.
Attendees will learn, practice and master critical skills in a safe environment, building a pipeline that benefits the wider healthcare system, from professional bodies and charities to higher education and NHS partners.
Mark Allan, general manager for Bupa Dental Care, said, “This facility represents a major step forward in how we support and develop our dental teams. Whether someone is just starting out or looking to expand their skills, we’re creating a space where they can learn and grow their knowledge.
“With the dental profession under increasing pressure, it’s more important than ever that we invest in our people and provide clear, supported career pathways. This is about building vital skills, capability and a future-ready workforce that can continue delivering high-quality care to patients across the UK.”

Dental professionals attending the facility will benefit from access to oral health practitioner apprenticeships, diplomas, radiography and anaesthetic courses, and training in equipment care and maintenance. The facility also features high-tech simulation labs, 3D technology, VR headsets and advanced mannequins to support immersive learning.
Carlos Jaureguizar, CEO for Bupa Global, India and UK, said, "Our Clinical Training Facility, part of Bupa Campus, represents a transformative commitment to build a pipeline of highly skilled talent that will benefit the broader healthcare system in the UK.
“With skill shortages across critical roles in care, dentistry and clinical settings, we recognise the need to develop a pipeline of healthcare professionals in the UK so that people can access the health services they need.
“Through this facility we want to provide a safe setting to master in-depth knowledge and skills, inspiring people to pursue fulfilling careers in healthcare. This means access to the latest technologies and techniques to confidently provide patients, customers and residents with high quality care and treatment, to live well for longer and enable better health outcomes.
“With no shareholders, our reinvestment of profits to train the UK’s health workforce underscores our commitment to delivering world-class care for patients and playing our role in the wider health ecosystem to attract, build and retain talented health professionals in the UK.”
The facility is based in Staines and is part of Bupa Campus which also incorporates facilities in Madrid, Spain and Melbourne, Australia.
